Appreciative Inquiry Australia

... sharing and learning together

Be Listed!

December 29, 2010

Today we’ve launched an exciting new section of this website, the Directory.

In the Directory you’ll find information and links to:

  • Appreciative Inquiry practitioners in Australia
  • Others whose products or services support the practice of Appreciative Inquiry

We invite all those working with AI in Australia to add their own information via the Directory Submission form.

Each directory listing provides the name of the person or organisation, a website link, contact information and a brief description of the products or services offered.

We hope this directory will become an ever-growing list of those people and organisations actively working with Appreciative Inquiry in Australia.

It will have few entries to begin with of course. 🙂  But please bookmark this site and come back often to connect with others working with or supporting AI in Australia.

News from the ‘Thinking Partners’

November 17, 2010

At the end of the Appreciative Inquiry Forum, nine people volunteered to come together as a group of “Thinking Partners” to help move things forward.

We are:

  • Julie Gorrell (NSW)
  • Amanda Horne (ACT)
  • Sue James (VIC)
  • Heather Lawrence (VIC)
  • Megumi Miki (VIC)
  • Christine Perkins (VIC)
  • Peter Spence (VIC)
  • Dan Stojanovich (VIC)
  • Paige Williams (VIC)

Six of us ‘met’ virtually via Skype on 9 November to start this process … Following the ‘cat-herding’ experience of trying to bring even this small group of busy people together at the same time! 🙂

As a result of that call, our group is currently working through several issues including:

  • Drafting a set of statements/principles about the purpose and role of the Thinking Partners group itself
  • Developing an online survey for everyone involved in the Australian AI community, designed to help “flesh out” some of the ideas generated at the forum

These are still ‘works in progress’ at the moment, though we hope to have more concrete news to share with you soon.

In the meantime, we wanted to let everyone in the Australian AI community know we have indeed begun to work on your behalf! 🙂

Voices from the Forum

October 26, 2010

During the f0rum, Chris Bennett was able to snatch a few moments between sessions with five of our participants.

We thank them for giving us permission to record their comments, which are  captured here in a flash show, simply entitled Five Voices. (View it by clicking on the link below)

They have captured for us some of the energy we experienced during the forum, as well as the generative and collaborative spirit with which we hope to move forward as an Appreciative Inquiry community here in Australia.
